Toto Construction in Houston, TX | Bradford Remodeling Co Houston
We provide independent Toto construction and installation service across Houston, from Heights bungalows with 60-year-old cast iron to newer slab-on-grade homes in the energy corridor. The one thing that separates our Toto work here is that we plan every install around Houston’s drainage requirements and the acidic clay soil that eats through old pipe. If you need a Toto fixture installed, repaired, or worked into a Kitchen Remodeling in Houston or bathroom project, call (940) 289-7658 for a written estimate before any work starts.
Bradford Remodeling Co Houston has been running Toto-specific construction jobs in this market for over a decade. We’re not a factory-authorized Toto dealer, and we won’t pretend to be. What we are is a crew that knows exactly how Toto’s mounting systems, valve bodies, and finish tolerances behave in Houston’s humidity, hard water, and shifting soil. Curtis Lane and the team read a Toto spec sheet the way most guys read a box score: fast, accurate, and without missing the fine print. You can see our full Toto sales & service capabilities there.
Why Houston Residents Choose Us for Toto Service

We’ve installed Toto Drake II and Ultramax II toilets in Montrose condos, Neorest smart toilets in Bellaire new construction, and Legato models in 1980s tract homes out toward Katy. That range of experience matters because a Toto fixture on a pier-and-beam floor in the Heights needs different rough-in work than the same model on a slab in Clear Lake. We plan for the substrate, the drainage slope, and the water chemistry before the first box gets opened.
Curtis started framing before he could legally drive, earned his carpentry and construction management credentials through Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, and has kept a worn copy of the local building code on his truck’s center console ever since landing in Houston. That book gets opened on almost every Toto remodel we run. It’s how we catch code issues early, quote a straight number, and hand you a signed written guarantee at the end of the job.

Common Toto Construction Problems We Solve in Houston
- Clogged E-Max and Tornado Flush rim jets from Houston hard water. Mineral scale builds up in the rim jets over time, especially in bathrooms with poor ventilation. You’ll notice the bowl rinse getting weak, streaks after every flush, and a toilet that needs a second flush to clear paper. We descale the rim properly and correct the ventilation issue if that’s what’s driving the buildup.
- Soft-close seat hinges seized from humidity. The plastic dampers in Drake and Ultramax seats crack within three to five years in high-moisture pier-and-beam homes. The seat slams shut, or it won’t hold position. We replace the hinge assembly with OEM Toto parts and coat the mounting hardware against the humidity that kills them early.
- Neorest auto-flush sensors phantom-flushing in summer. Houston’s humidity condenses on the sensor window, and bathroom exhaust fans pull fine construction dust across it. The sensor misreads and flushes on its own. We recalibrate the sensor, verify the fan is pulling the right CFM, and reposition the sensor so it stops misreading the moisture in the air.
- 1.28 GPF Toto toilets struggling in older cast-iron drain lines inside the Loop. Rust scale narrows the pipe from the inside, so low-flow discharge doesn’t fully clear the trapway. You get repeated clogs, even on a nearly new toilet. We camera the line, remove the corroded section if needed, and verify the fall per foot meets Houston’s code before reinstalling.
- Rocking Toto toilets on slab foundations after foundation leveling. Expansive clay soil under Houston slabs moves, and when it does, the toilet flange can sit proud of the finished floor or the wax seal can break. A rocking toilet isn’t just annoying – it’s a leak waiting to happen. We reset the toilet with a proper flange extension and a new wax ring, and we check the slab grade so the bowl sits dead level.
Toto Service in Houston: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Houston requires a pre-construction drainage plan for any lot addition over 500 square feet. When that addition includes a new Toto bathroom, the plumbing rough-in has to tie into the existing drain line so backflow can’t happen during a 100-year storm. We’ve done this work as our General Contractor in Houston team, and we’ve seen what happens when a contractor skips the drainage plan and roughs it in anyway. The first big rain pushes water back through the line and into the new bathroom. Pasadena and Sugar Land don’t carry that same requirement, so a crew that runs Toto installs out there may never have dealt with it. We have. It changes how we slope the drain line, where we set the cleanout, and how we size the trap arm. That drainage plan is real paperwork, and it’s part of every Toto bathroom plan we draw up in Houston. Straight scope, straight number – that’s the whole conversation.
Toto Models & Products We Service in Houston
We work on the full Toto line that shows up in Houston homes: Drake II (CST454CEFG), Ultramax II (MS604114CEFG), Neorest (MS990CGR), and Legato (TL221SD). For anything that touches flush performance or water integrity – flappers, fill valves, tower flush assemblies – we install OEM Toto parts. If an OEM part is backordered, we’ll offer a Korky aftermarket fill valve, since Korky actually manufactures many of the components Toto puts its name on. We stock the most common Toto parts in our Houston shop so a Drake or Ultramax repair doesn’t sit waiting on a shipment for a week. For any Toto toilet under ten years old, we recommend repair unless the trapway is cracked or you want to upgrade to a tornado-flush model built for hard water.

FAQs – Toto Construction in Houston
The most common cause in a pier-and-beam home is a fill valve that’s hanging up on hard-water scale or a flapper that’s slowly dissolving from Houston’s chlorinated water chemistry. The second cause we see is the tank sitting slightly out of level because pier-and-beam floors sag over time. We replace the fill valve with OEM parts, set the chain length correctly, and shim the toilet to level. Call (940) 289-7658 if you want it handled.
In most cases, yes. The Neorest needs water supply and electrical rough-in that a standard toilet bathroom doesn’t have, so we run a dedicated GFCI circuit and adjust the supply location. If your bathroom is on an interior wall in a slab-on-grade Houston home, we may need to route electrical through the attic rather than trenching the slab. A Neorest install is real construction, not a swap-out.
It’s usually the flange, not the toilet. Houston’s expansive clay soil moves under the slab, and after foundation leveling settles, the closet flange often sits proud of the finished floor or drops below it. That leaves a gap the wax ring can’t bridge. We reset the toilet with a flange extension and a new ring, then check that the bowl’s dead level. The toilet itself is rarely the problem.
Houston’s summer humidity plus mineral buildup from hard water seizes the plastic dampers inside the hinge assembly. Once the dampers crack, the seat drops like it has no soft-close at all. We replace the hinge with OEM Toto parts and apply a silicone lubricant that stands up to the humidity. If it keeps happening, the bathroom’s exhaust fan likely isn’t pulling enough moisture out, and we’ll address that too.
It depends on the condition of the pipe. In older Heights homes, cast-iron drain lines have often rusted to a smaller effective diameter, and 1.28 gallons per flush doesn’t always clear the trapway. We camera the line before recommending a low-flow model. If the pipe is too far gone, we replace the corroded section or recommend a Toto with a 3-inch flush valve like the Ultramax II. Call (940) 289-7658 for a drain check and a straight answer.
