Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling: The Houston Owner’s Guide

Caesarstone kitchen remodeling in Houston typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed, depending on slab count, edge profile, and whether you’re replacing a single countertop run or reworking the entire kitchen. We stock Caesarstone-compatible fabrication materials on our trucks and can match most current and discontinued color codes within a few days, not weeks. Here’s the usual story: a homeowner notices a hairline crack near the sink cutout, or a seam has opened up after three Houston summers of expansion and contraction. The countertop didn’t fail overnight. It failed because the substrate underneath wasn’t prepped for this climate, or the original seam was rushed.

We’re an independent remodeling contractor. We’re not affiliated with Caesarstone, and we don’t claim to be. What we do is work with their slabs every week, know their fabrication requirements cold, and install them to hold up in Houston’s heat and humidity. Around here, a quartz countertop has to survive 95-degree Julys and the occasional cold snap that makes every seam in the house shift. That’s the test, and it’s why we’re particular about how we cut, seam, and set every piece.

Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

Caesarstone runs dozens of color lines, but from a remodeling standpoint they break into three groups: the Classic line (5141 Frosty Carrina, 5211 White Attica, 5100 Blizzard), the Supernatural line (the veined, large-scale patterns like 5141 Calacatta Maximus and 5101 Calacatta Nuvo), and the Outdoor line rated for UV exposure. Your slab’s color code is printed on the underside of the stone, usually in ink near one corner. If the counters are already in, that code is gone, and we match by color sample against Caesarstone’s current swatch deck.

The gotcha most Houston owners hit is this: Caesarstone’s more dramatic veined patterns have directional veining. That means every slab we cut has to be laid out so the vein runs the same way across every seam, or the finished kitchen looks patched together. Cheaper fabricators will skip this layout work to save slab material. We don’t, because the result is visible from across the room. The second issue is thickness: Caesarstone comes in 2cm and 3cm. If you’re replacing one countertop section on an older 3cm slab and the supplier only stocks the color in 2cm now, the new piece won’t sit flush with the old. We check thickness before we ever order material. OEM slab versus aftermarket: for Caesarstone, there is no aftermarket. The slab is the slab. The fabrication technique, the seam color, the edge profile, the substrate prep: that’s where quality gets won or lost.

Signs Your Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

  • A crack running off the sink cutout. This is the number one failure we see in Houston, and it’s almost never the stone’s fault. The cabinet below shifts with humidity, the substrate wasn’t shimmed flat, and the slab bridges a low spot. Quartz doesn’t flex. It cracks.
  • A seam that’s opened wider than a credit card. Seams should be tight, filled, and nearly invisible. When a seam gap opens, the two slab sections are moving independently, which means the substrate wasn’t joined or supported correctly under the seam line.
  • Chalky white haze that won’t wipe off. Caesarstone’s surface is non-porous, but aggressive cleaners (and some Houston well water) can etch the resin binder over time. The haze means the surface polish has been chemically damaged, and polishing it back requires diamond pads and someone who knows when to stop.
  • A dull spot where hot pans always land. Quartz resin degrades around 300 degrees. A trivet costs ten dollars. A scorched ring in the middle of your island is a permanent record of every pot you ever set down hot.
  • Edge chipping along the overhang. Caesarstone’s squared edges are precise and relatively sharp. If a chair back, a vacuum handle, or a dropped Dutch oven blows a chip out of the edge, that’s repairable if we have the color-matched epoxy and the original slab remnant. Sometimes we do, sometimes the remnant is long gone, which is why we save a small offcut for every client we install for.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s the straight number: a Houston Caesarstone kitchen remodel lands between $14,000 and $45,000. That range includes demo of the old counters, substrate repair or replacement, slab material, fabrication, installation, plumbing disconnect and reconnect, and a written one-year guarantee on the whole job. The spread comes down to three things: how many linear feet of counter you have, whether the slabs you pick are stock colors or Supernatural veined patterns that carry a higher per-slab price, and what edge profile you’re willing to pay for. A basic eased edge is fastest. A mitered waterfall edge on an island doubles the fabrication labor on that piece.

Scope Houston Installed Range
Caesarstone countertop install only (25-40 sq ft) $2,000 – $6,500
Full kitchen remodel with Caesarstone counters $14,000 – $45,000
Kitchen island with Caesarstone top $3,000 – $10,000
Backsplash install with stone or tile $800 – $2,500

The written price we give you before any work starts includes every line item. You’ll see the slab cost, the fabrication per square foot, the install labor, and the plumbing reconnect as separate numbers. Nothing moves at the door. That’s The Garrison Standard: a written price, a written guarantee, and a crew that shows up wearing uniforms and carrying the scope of work in their heads.

DIY or Call Us?

You can check a few things yourself: run your hand along the underside of the counter and feel for gaps between the stone and the cabinet boxes. Look under the sink and see if the stone sits directly on the cabinet rim or on standoff shims. Read your slab’s thickness with a tape measure at the sink cutout. Beyond that, quartz countertop work isn’t a homeowner job. Moving a 400-pound slab without cracking it takes two guys and the right suction-cup rig. Cutting a Caesarstone piece in your garage throws silica dust into the air that you don’t want in your lungs, and fabricating a clean seam needs a bridge saw and color-matched epoxy that’s specific to Caesarstone’s resin chemistry. Trying to grind and polish a damaged section without the right diamond sequence makes the dull spot worse, not better. If the cabinet below your cracked countertop has any water damage, that’s a structural issue, not a stone issue, and it has to be fixed before the new slab goes down. We’ve torn out enough soggy cabinet tops in Montrose and Meyerland to know the damage Houston humidity does to a MDF substrate that never should have been there in the first place. Call (940) 289-7658 and we’ll come look at it, give you a written number, and tell you honestly whether the whole counter needs replacing or just one section.
