Delta Driveway & Pavers: The Houston Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Delta-compatible driveway and paver systems throughout Houston, with typical installed pricing running $7,000 to $18,000 for a standard two-car driveway replacement in our market. Most jobs are completed within three to five working days once materials land on site. The call usually starts the same way: a homeowner notices a paver shifting underfoot, a low spot pooling water after rain, or a section of the driveway settling where the soil underneath gave way. That settling is the real story, because in Houston the problem is rarely the paver itself. It’s almost always what’s underneath it.
Bradford Remodeling Co Houston is an independent service provider. We are not affiliated with Delta, but we work with Delta paver lines regularly and keep their current sizing charts on hand for quoting.
Which Delta Models This Applies To

Delta’s paver and driveway product line runs across several series, and the compatibility questions we hear most often come down to two things: unit dimensions and the substrate spec. Delta pavers are manufactured in three standard thicknesses, 60mm, 80mm, and 100mm. The 60mm units are pedestrian-rated and show up in patios and walkways. Driveways require 80mm or 100mm units, and in Houston we recommend 100mm for any driveway that will carry a full-size pickup or SUV. That single spec difference is the most common mismatch we see when homeowners buy pavers from a big-box store and then discover they were sold patio-grade units for a driveway.
If you’re matching an existing Delta installation, check the underside of a pulled paver for the series stamp. Delta marks their units with a two-letter series code and the nominal dimensions in millimeters. Older runs from before 2015 used a different edge bevel, which means a new paver dropped next to an old one can leave a visible lip. We’ve matched enough of those jobs to know when a full section replacement makes more sense than spot patching.
For OEM versus aftermarket: Delta’s own replacement units are the safest match for color and edge profile, and we order them direct when the original series is still in production. When a series has been discontinued, we source from Delta’s approved distributor network or match to a quality equivalent from Belgard or Unilock, which we also install. We show you the spec sheet before we order anything.

Signs Your Delta Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Pavers rocking or shifting underfoot. This means the bedding sand has washed out or compacted unevenly. In Houston, heavy rain events move sand faster than most homeowners expect. A paver that rocks today will crack tomorrow.
- Low spots that hold water for more than an hour after rain. Standing water on a paver surface accelerates freeze-thaw damage and algae growth. It also tells you the base layer has settled unevenly. The paver isn’t failing, but the base under it is.
- Crumbling or spalling paver edges. Once the edge bevel starts flaking off, moisture is getting into the paver body. Houston’s humidity keeps that moisture in place, and the damage compounds. This is more common with 60mm units that got installed in a driveway application.
- Wide or uneven joint lines between pavers. Joint sand is a wear item. When it goes, the pavers start working against each other, and the pattern visibly drifts. Left alone, the drift turns into cracked units along the edges.
- A section of driveway that has visibly sunk an inch or more. This is the base failing, not the paver. In Houston’s clay-heavy soils, sections settle when the subgrade wasn’t compacted correctly or drainage wasn’t addressed. The fix is pulling that section, repairing the base, and relaying the pavers. New pavers on top of a failed base just means doing the job twice.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a Houston driveway, here’s the range we quote most often:
| Scope | Typical Installed Price |
|---|---|
| Full paver driveway replacement (two-car, standard grade) | $7,000 – $12,000 |
| Full paver driveway replacement (larger or sloped lot) | $12,000 – $18,000 |
| Sectional repair (base failure, under 200 sq ft) | $1,500 – $4,000 |
| Driveway sealing or joint sand replenishment | $250 – $700 |
Every quote includes the same line items, in writing, before any work starts: demolition and haul-off of the failed section, base excavation and compaction, new aggregate base, bedding sand, the pavers themselves, edge restraint, joint sand, and final compaction. That’s The Garrison Standard, and you’ll see every one of those items on paper before you sign anything. If the scope changes on site, the price changes in writing first, not at the door. All completed paver work carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a paver shifts, settles, or fails inside the guarantee window, we come back and correct it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely inspect a Delta paver driveway yourself. Pull up one loose paver and look at the base underneath. If you see standing water or the base has turned to mud, that’s a drainage problem, not a paver problem, and it needs a professional eye. You can also check joint sand levels and top off low joints as a maintenance item. What you should not do is attempt to re-grade or re-compact a settled section on your own. Paver driveways fail from the bottom up, and hand-tamping a few square feet on Houston clay won’t hold. You’ll have the same low spot back after the first hard rain. Straight scope, straight number. That’s the whole conversation. If your Delta driveway is showing any of the signs above, call us at (940) 289-7658 and we’ll send someone out to look at it properly.
FAQs

A properly installed Delta paver driveway with an 80mm or 100mm unit and a correctly compacted base will last 25 to 40 years in Houston. The pavers themselves hold up. What fails first is the base if the original install didn’t address drainage or compaction. We see driveways with 60mm pavers fail in under 10 years when they were installed as a cheaper shortcut. Call us at (940) 289-7658 if you want the exact lifespan for your specific install.
Yes. We repair sections all the time, and the job usually runs $1,500 to $4,000 depending on square footage and base condition. The catch is color matching. If your Delta series is still in production, we order matching units and the repair blends well. If it’s been discontinued, we’ll show you the closest available match before we order, so you can decide with your eyes open. Call (940) 289-7658 for a written price on your section.
Most two-car driveway replacements take three to five working days in Houston. Demolition and base work run one to two days, and relay plus compaction runs another two. Weather can stretch that, because we won’t lay pavers over a saturated base. You’ll have a schedule in writing with your quote. Call (940) 289-7658 to lock in a start date.
No. Paver units are ordered per job to match your specific series, color, and thickness. We stock joint sand, edge restraint, and base materials on hand, and we can usually pull a sample paver from your driveway and have the exact match quoted within 48 hours. Call (940) 289-7658 and we’ll get the order moving.
That’s a base failure, and the answer is excavation and re-compaction, not new pavers. In Houston, the usual cause is either a drainage path dumping water under the driveway or a subgrade that was never compacted to spec. Curtis Lane has read enough soil reports on Houston lots to spot the difference in the first walkthrough. Call (940) 289-7658 for an honest read on what’s under your pavers.
