Jerith Fence Installation: The Houston Owner’s Guide
Jerith fence installation in Houston typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a full residential install, depending on footage, gate count, and whether we’re working with steel or aluminum panels. We stock Jerith-compatible posts, brackets, and gate hardware on our trucks, and in most neighborhoods we can have a crew out within the week, once weather and parts line up. Most homeowners call us when a section starts leaning, a gate drags, or a post snapped at the base after a good Houston storm.
Jerith builds aluminum and steel fencing designed to take wind and humidity better than wood, but the ground here doesn’t do any fence favors. Our crews have pulled posts from yards in Katy, Cypress, and Sugar Land that looked fine above the soil line and were nearly eaten through below it. If you’re in Houston and your Jerith fence is pushing twenty years old or showing rust at the base, you’re likely looking at replacing sections, not just tightening brackets.
Which Jerith Models This Applies To

Jerith runs several residential lines: the Aluminum Estate series, the Steel Estate series, the Aluminum Victory line, and the industrial-grade Commercial series. The parts are not interchangeable across all of them. Aluminum posts take aluminum brackets. Steel panels need steel posts. Mixing metals in Houston’s humidity sets up galvanic corrosion, and you’ll see the failure at the connection point within a couple of years.
When we arrive, we look for the manufacturer’s label on the inside of a gate frame or the post cap. If the label’s gone, we measure the post dimensions and wall thickness. A Jerith Aluminum Estate post runs 2″ square for residential use; the Steel Estate is typically 2″ x 2″ with a heavier wall. Aftermarket posts exist, and some are good, but Jerith panels are drilled and notched for their own post system. We’ll quote OEM first unless the lead time is unreasonable, then we’ll tell you exactly which aftermarket post we trust and why.
One compatibility gotcha we see often: a homeowner buys Jerith residential panels and assumes any 2″ post will carry them. It won’t. The bracket and rail channel are specific to the system. If you’re in Houston and replacing a fence section, take a photo of the gate hinge and the top rail before you buy anything. That photo saves us a diagnostic trip and saves you money.

Signs Your Jerith Fence Installation Is Failing
- Leaning sections after a hard rain. The post concrete has cracked or washed out, or the post itself corroded below grade. In Houston’s clay soil, water sits against the post base longer than it should.
- Gate dragging across the concrete or grass. The hinge post has shifted, or the gate frame has sagged. Jerith gates are heavier than they look; once they start pulling on the post, the pivot wears fast.
- Rust bleeding from the bottom of a steel post. That’s moisture working from the inside out. By the time you see the rust, the wall of the post is often compromised near the ground line.
- Panels rattling in the wind or popping out of the rails. The bracket screws have loosened, or the rail channel has widened. Houston gets enough straight-line wind that a loose panel becomes a dangerous one in a storm.
- Brackets cracked or missing. This happens with older installations where the hardware was overtightened or the wrong fastener was used. A broken bracket puts the entire panel load on the remaining hardware.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full Jerith fence installation in Houston, plan on $3,500 to $9,000. That’s the installed range we quote most often. A shorter run of aluminum panels along a side yard in the Heights will sit at the lower end. A full backyard perimeter with two walk gates and a double-drive gate out in Katy or Kingwood lands higher.
What drives the number up: footage, gate hardware, steel versus aluminum, and whether we’re pulling old concrete footings or pouring new ones. We write the price before work starts, and that number doesn’t move at the door. You’ll see the line items for parts, labor, concrete, and hardware. Every installation carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the fence fails within a year of installation, Bradford comes back and corrects it at no charge.
Bradford Remodeling Co Houston is an independent contractor. We are not affiliated with Jerith, but we install their systems and stock compatible parts. Curtis Lane reads every Jerith scope the same way: straight scope, straight number, that’s the whole conversation.
DIY or Call Us?
Replacing a Jerith fence is not a high-tension job like a garage spring, but steel and aluminum panels are heavy, and a swinging gate can pinch hard if it comes off its hinges mid-repair. You can safely check two things yourself: look for rust at the post base, and tug each panel to see if the brackets have loosened. That tells you whether it’s a hardware fix or a structural one.
Where DIY goes wrong in Houston is the concrete work. Setting a post so it stays plumb through a wet spring takes a proper footing, the right mix, and enough depth to get below shifting clay. If the post leans in six months, you’ll be digging it out and doing it again. Call (940) 289-7658 and we’ll give you a written number for the whole job. No surprises, no re-quotes at the door.
FAQs

A properly installed Jerith fence in Houston lasts 20 to 30 years for the steel lines and 15 to 25 years for aluminum, but the posts fail before the panels in most of the yards we see. That lifespan drops where sprinkler heads spray the post bases all summer. Call (940) 289-7658 for an inspection and an honest replacement estimate.
Most failing Jerith fences need replacement at the post level: we pull the failed post, set a new one in fresh concrete, and re-hang the original panels. That’s a repair, not a full replacement, and it costs less than starting over. If the panels themselves are damaged from impact or tree fall, we’ll quote replacement sections.
A typical backyard replacement takes two to three working days in Houston, weather permitting. Day one is demo and post setting, day two is hanging panels and gates, and day three is hardware adjustment and site cleanup. We don’t rush the concrete cure; that’s where most installers fail.
We stock common Jerith-compatible posts, brackets, gate hinges, and latch hardware on our trucks, and we can source full Jerith panel and gate systems for installs. If we need to order a specific part, we’ll give you the lead time up front in the written quote. Call (940) 289-7658 and we’ll check our stock while you’re on the phone.
