Tremron Driveway & Pavers: The Houston Owner’s Guide
Tremron paver driveway and patio repair in Houston typically runs $1,800 – $6,500 depending on the square footage involved, and most jobs are completed in two to four working days once we have the pavers on site. We stock common Tremron profiles and can match the three most popular paver sizes same-day from our Houston yard. Most homeowners discover a problem the same way: a paver shifts underfoot, a low spot holds water after rain, or the sand between joints starts washing out faster than it used to.
Houston’s clay soil and long wet season are rough on paver driveways. The ground expands and contracts, and any base layer that wasn’t compacted correctly will show itself within a few seasons. We see it in Kingwood, Pearland, Sugar Land, Katy, and the Heights: the same failure pattern, the same fix, and a price that stops moving once it’s in writing.
Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron manufactures concrete pavers in a range of profiles, and Houston driveways and patios most commonly use their Holland/Granite, Olde Towne, and Castle series stones. The part that fails on a Tremron project isn’t usually a single paver. It’s the system around it: the edge restraint, the bedding sand, the joint sand, and sometimes the paver itself when a vehicle load cracks it or a tree root lifts it.
The compatibility gotcha with Tremron is thickness. Driveway pavers need to be 60mm (2-3/8 inches) or 80mm (3-1/8 inches) to handle vehicle loads. Patio and walkway pavers are often 60mm or thinner, and using a thinner paver on a driveway is why we get called out years later to redo a job someone else put down. If you don’t know what you have, flip up an edge paver and measure the thickness, or look for the Tremron stamp on the underside. That stamp tells us the series, and the series tells us what we can match.
For OEM versus aftermarket on Tremron specifically: Tremron color batches shift slightly year to year. A brand-new Tremron paver installed next to a ten-year-old one will look brighter for the first season, then weather in closer. Aftermarket equivalents exist for solid gray and charcoal tones, but for anything with a tumbled finish or mixed color, we order straight from Tremron so the aggregate matches. We’d rather tell you the wait time than hand you a patch that never blends.

Signs Your Tremron Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Standing water that lingers more than an hour after rain. This means the base under the pavers has settled or washed out in pockets. It’s a drainage and compaction problem, not just a cosmetic one, and it gets worse with every Houston downpour.
- Pavers that rock or shift when you step on them. The bedding sand is eroding, or the edge restraint has let go. A rocking paver is the first visible sign that the whole section is losing its lock.
- Sand washing out of the joints after every storm. Joint sand is the structural glue of a paver system. When it keeps washing out, the pavers start rubbing against each other, and chipping follows right behind it.
- Cracked or spalled pavers in the wheel path of your driveway. Houston heat and moisture cause the surface to flake on pavers that were never rated for vehicle load. Once the top layer spalls, the paver can’t be salvaged; it gets replaced.
- A sunken tire track or low swale running down the driveway. This points to base failure under the heaviest load line. Filling it with sand or topping it with new pavers won’t fix it; the section needs to come up and be re-compacted.

Here are the installed price ranges we quote for Tremron paver work in Houston. These are written prices before we start, no exceptions.
- Paver driveway installation (new, full scope): $7,000 – $18,000
- Paver driveway repair (sectional, including base rework): $1,800 – $6,500
- Paver patio installation: $3,500 – $11,000
- Paver patio repair or re-leveling: $1,200 – $4,000
- Joint sand refill and re-compaction (small areas): $350 – $900
- Edge restraint replacement (linear, installed): $10 – $22 per linear foot
What moves the number on a repair is what we find when we lift the first section. If the base is still sound, we re-set the pavers, refill the joints, and compact. If the base has turned to mush from Houston’s wet-dry cycles, we dig it out, haul it off, and rebuild it with properly compacted crushed stone. That’s the difference between a $2,000 fix and a $6,000 fix, and you’ll know which one you’re getting before we start.
Every Tremron repair we install carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the section we touched settles, shifts, or fails within a full year, we come back and correct it at no charge. That’s in writing, signed, and in your hand at close-out.
DIY or Call Us?
You can check three things yourself without touching a tool. Walk the driveway after a hard rain and mark every spot that holds water with a piece of chalk. Flip up one edge paver and measure its thickness. And run a hose along the outer edge and watch whether water pools against the curb or drains away clean. Those three observations tell us more about your repair than most site visits would.
What we’d tell you not to do is pull up a sunken section and re-set it yourself. The failure that made it sink is still underneath it, and a DIY re-set without re-compacting the base just buys you one season. You’ll be doing it again by next spring. If the base needs rework, it needs a plate compactor, proper stone, and a crew that’s done it in Houston’s soil conditions enough times to know how the clay reacts. We’ve been pulling and re-setting Tremron pavers across the Houston market for over a decade, and the difference between a repair that holds and one that doesn’t is usually the first six inches under the paver.
If you want an honest read on whether your driveway needs a re-set or a full rebuild, call (940) 289-7658. We’ll come out, give you a straight scope and a straight number, and you can decide with the facts in front of you.
FAQs

A properly installed Tremron paver driveway lasts 25 to 40 years in Houston, while the base underneath it typically needs attention every 12 to 15 years because of our expanding clay soil. The pavers themselves rarely fail; the base and the edge restraints go first. Call (940) 289-7658 if you want us to look at your base and give you a straight answer on what’s left in it.
Most failing Tremron driveways in Houston can be repaired section by section, provided the base under the undamaged areas is still sound. We lift only what needs lifting, rework the base in that section, and re-set the original pavers wherever they’re still intact. Call (940) 289-7658 for a free estimate, and we’ll tell you honestly which sections are salvageable.
A sectional repair on a Tremron driveway in Houston takes two to four working days from start to compacted, finished surface. The longest part is usually letting the reworked base settle under compaction before we set the pavers back in. Your written price includes the full timeline, so you’ll know the schedule before we cut into anything.
We stock the most common Tremron profiles and colors at our Houston yard, and we can match unusual colors and tumbled finishes with a special order directly from Tremron. If a color has been discontinued, we’ll tell you that on the first call rather than sell you a near-match that shows. Call (940) 289-7658 and we’ll check our inventory while you’re on the phone.
