Construction Before & After in Houston, TX
Photos don’t need a sales pitch. A Houston kitchen that started with water-damaged cabinets and ended with a Cambria island tells its own story. We keep a running record of our remodels because the before shot is the only honest way to judge the after. Here’s what real construction work looks like in Houston homes, from first tear-out to the signed guarantee in your hand.

Kitchen Remodel: Galleria-Area Condo
Before
After
Before
AfterThe problem: a closed-off kitchen with a soffit running the length of the ceiling, which is Houston code for “builder saved money on duct relocation in 1994.” The soffit hid nothing but dead space. We removed the peninsula, relocated the duct run through the adjacent wall cavity, and opened the kitchen to the living area. The result is a full-slab Cambria island with seating for four and a cooktop that no longer faces a wall. The homeowner’s words: “I didn’t know my condo had this much light.”
Whole-Home Remodel: Heights Bungalow
Before
After
The house had good bones but the Houston humidity had won every battle on the exterior. The substrate under the old siding was soft in places, which meant we couldn’t just patch and paint; we had to cut out the rot and replace it before anything else. We reframed the porch, installed James Hardie siding with a proper rain screen, and replaced every window with double-pane units rated for Gulf Coast heat. The porch is now part of the house again, not a separate structure leaning against it.
Kitchen Remodel: Katy-Area Suburban Track Home

This was a classic late-2000s suburban kitchen: cabinet boxes that stopped a foot short of the ceiling, a microwave that doubled as the only ventilation, and a layout that put the dishwasher in the worst possible spot relative to the sink. We tore it to the studs, rerouted the electrical so the island could have code-compliant outlets, and built the cabinets up to the crown. The range now vents outside through a roof jack instead of recirculating grease into the living room. This project ran exactly to the written schedule and the price on paper did not move.
General Contractor: Water Damage Repair in Meyerland

Homeowners called us after their insurance adjuster had already been through and they needed someone who could handle the repair as a general contract, not hand it off to three separate subs with three separate schedules. We pulled the damaged drywall, ran dehumidifiers until the framing read dry on a moisture meter, and rebuilt the room. The trim profile was a stock colonial pattern that we matched exactly, so the repaired wall doesn’t announce itself as a patch job. The homeowner signed off with the 365-Day Done Right Promise in hand.
Home Remodel: Primary Bath in Spring Branch

The shower pan had been leaking slowly for years, and the carpet was the only thing hiding the damage. We gutted the room, replaced the rotted subfloor, and reworked the layout so the old tub alcove became storage. The shower is now curbless with a linear drain, which matters in Houston: a curbless shower is easier to keep mold-free when the humidity sits at 90% for weeks in August. Kohler fixtures throughout, Caesarstone on the vanity, and a vent fan sized to actually move the CFM the room needs.
Kitchen Remodel: Townhome in Midtown

The homeowner had lived with no dishwasher for six years because the 1984 layout simply had no space for one. We removed a non-load-bearing wall segment between the kitchen and the utility closet, borrowed 18 square feet, and now there is a dishwasher where the trash can used to sit. The refrigerator got recessed into the wall behind it, which recovered the doorway swing. Small project, but it changed how the homeowner uses the entire first floor. Tile counters are gone. Houston has enough grout to clean without adding kitchen counters to the list.
